Gas and electric giant nPower has recently joined EDF Energy in announcing one of the largest price increases in years, taking average energy costs to well over £1,000 per year for dual fuel customers.
EDF’s planned 8.4% electricity price rise is due to take effect from 1st March this year, with nPower’s proposed increase of around 15% in electricity bills following shortly afterward on 16th March. Experts believe the move could be a precursor to other energy providers also raising their prices, much to the dismay of their customers.
With The Guardian reporting that wholesale energy prices have risen by around a third since last spring and advancements in technology meaning PV energy storage is becoming increasingly accessible, the use of solar panels makes perfect sense now more than ever.
